Weekend Savings!

I did a LOT of shopping this weekend. Hopefully, I stimulated the economy a little! Friday night, I did what only the brave will do and went to Target with my hubby and 20 month old. I had high hopes of finishing all my shopping in one night... Didn't happen, but I was pleased with my results. Here's what I found at Target:

• Luv's Diapers: $15.99
  
• Cups (from Santa for Jax's stocking): $6.99
• Luminair Starter Kit: Reg. price $7.99, on sale for $4.99 - $5 coupon from paper = FREE + $0.01 overage!
• Keebler Cookies 5 packs: Sale prices $2.49+$2.49+$2.33+$2.33+$3.15 = $12.79 - 5 coupons ($1.00 each) = $7.79 + earned a $5 gift card which the cashier just deducted from my total = $2.79 ($0.56 each!)
• Colgate Kids Toothpaste: I didn't realize hubby put this in the buggy... I have lots of coupons for this and didn't get to use them:( = $2.19
• 18 Gallon Storage Containers: Reg. price $5.99 on sale for $4.99 x 2= $9.98
• Gift for one of my blog readers (so, I can't say who or what this is): $12.49
• Rawhide Bones (for our dog): $0.99
• Pet toy: $0.99
• Tonka set: $7.99
• Kids' puzzle: $3.99
• Nerf dartboard game: Reg. price $19.99, sale price $15.99
• Bathtub toys: $9.99
• Rayovac batteries: sale price $1.00 - $1.00 coupon = FREE

Regular price: a little more than $120 (I didn't write down the regular price of the cookies)
Coupons used: 5 x $1 Keebler coupons, $5 Target Gift card earned and redeemed, $5 Luminair coupon, $1 Rayovac coupon, $10 off $100 Target purchase coupon courtesy of my friend Megan = $80.36

At that point, my two boys were pretty tired, so we called it a night. I got an early start Saturday morning and finished up my shopping.

I started at Walmart. I know, I know... I was looking for a tool kit for Jaxson, and I couldn't find one at Target. Anyway, Here's what I got at Walmart:

• Crayola Bath Crayons: $2.97
• Yogo Snacks: $2.00
• Spongebob Fruit Snacks: $2.00
• Envelopes: $4.97
• Tool Kit: $14.88

Total OOP: $28.69 + tax

My next stop was Walgreens. Last month when I filled out my EasySaver Rebate form, I clicked on the button to receive a new Walgreens gift card, by accident. I meant to reload my old card, so I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new card. Wouldn't you know it showed up in my mailbox Saturday, after I went to Walgreens? Much to my surprise, Walgreens had a lot of great deals Saturday. I'm not sure if this was a national thing or if the sales varied by location, but there were lots of unadvertised deals. Here's what I got:

I was really happy about my Walgreens purchases. They were still sold out of the Scotch tape, but I have a raincheck. Hopefully, they will restock by the end of the months so I can get that deal! My last stop was Publix:

• Angel Soft T.P.: Reg. price $6.99 x 2 = 13.98, sale price $5.50 x 2 = $11.00 - 2 x $1 printed coupons = $9.00 ($4.50 each)

I also realized that I have a stack of Piggly Wiggly coupons that are $5 off a $25 purchase and Publix accepts them as competitor coupons! They were in the coupon book that schools in our area sell every year! Awesome!
